Bats from top to bottom: Serotine, Noctule, Natterer’s, Daubenton’s. The Noctule and Serotine are larger bats; the best way to tell the difference is that Noctules have a wider face. A Serotine has a narrower, darker face. When looking at the tail, the tail of a Serotine is slightly free compared to that of the Noctule.

A Daubenton’s and Natterer’s were caught; both look very similar, as well as the Bechstein’s. All are Myotis and are of medium size. The Natterer’s has long, pointy ears and a white belly. The Daubenton has diamond-shaped ears and very large feet. The Bechstein’s has very long ears.

A WAB bat (Whiskered, Brandt, and Alcathoe) was caught, but unidentified; it is a small Myotis (unphotographed).
